Case Study Text:
The objective of this case study was to determine if Enovative Kontrol Systems’ The Enovative Demand Controller pump could produce substantial savings in natural gas and water consumption compared to the standard rates of usage of a traditional continuous (24/7) recirculation pump. In order to prove successful, not only would the The Enovative Demand Controller pump have to generate measurable savings, but would have to do so without extending the delivery time of the hot water to the end user.
The test was conducted, by SoCal Gas, by installing a pump at each of the twelve, 1,200 sq foot, luxury villas in Palm Desert, CA for alternating 1 week periods. A total of 52 weeks of data were collected.
The results, as pictured in the graph (right), clearly depict the positive impact the The Enovative Demand Controller pump can have on a commercial water heating system.
Savings from using The Enovative Demand Controller ranged from an 11.7% decrease in Gas Usage to a 3.8% reduction in Total Water Usage.
